Pension Outsourcing Operational and Financial Governance Leader

Willis Towers Watson’s North America Pension Outsourcing business is growing and evolving rapidly, and the Operational & Financial Governance Leader will play a key role in leading the business through this change. This leader will oversee a broad range of governance activities around financial management and improvement, operational reporting and analytics, information security governance, internal communications, and other operational support. They will be supported by a team of colleagues specializing in the various areas noted above.

The role requires a broad understanding of the Pension Outsourcing business, with a focus on operations. This person will work closely with Pension Outsourcing leadership to support business needs, manage change, and to inform and execute on improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead change in operational and financial governance practices to meet the business’s evolving needs, e.g. integration of Administration and Large Market Technology, implementation of Propel initiatives, etc.
• Provide strategic insight on financial and operational topics to inform business strategy and priorities
• Oversee the Pension Outsourcing (PO) financial team on financial management and financial improvement activities
• Oversee the creation and distribution of ongoing and ad hoc operational and financial reporting such as productivity reporting, Lead Consultant Revenue reporting, labor cost reporting, implementation financial reporting, financial and operational analytics and trend analysis, etc.
• Coordinate across PO Leadership to define information security strategy and governance practices
• Provide high level oversight to the PO Internal Communications Leader and Communications Committee
• Work closely with the PO Talent Development Leader and provide operational support resources to support activities such as hiring, national staffing coordination, and year-end calibration support
• Lead the Operational and Financial Governance team, ensuring that the team is appropriately staffed, with a focus on providing development opportunities to colleagues and increasing leverage and efficiency for routine support activities
• Collaborate with a broad network of resources outside of Pension Outsourcing, including the Benefits Outsourcing Financial Management Team, the Retirement Operations Management team, the Retirement Policy & Procedures Leader, Human Resources partners, and others

The Requirements

• Significant experience and success in leading large market benefits and/or outsourcing engagements.
• Track record of success in operational leadership roles and leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience in managing multiple people and projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
• Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges.
• An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills.
• Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization.
• Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in benefits and outsourcing plan strategy and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches.
• Ability to travel and work extended hours as needed.
• An undergraduate degree is required; advanced degree preferred.
