Property and Casualty Manager / Sr Consultant Loss Reserving

The Insurance Consulting Technology (ICT) practice of Willis Towers Watson is looking for an Actuarial Property & Casualty Senior Consultant with knowledge and experience with insurance and reinsurance including loss reserving, pricing and risk management. You will be developing and delivering reserve studies, capital management and pricing analyses for our (re)insurance company and ILS fund clients. You will play a key role in our marketing efforts and the growth of this practice area as you progress to the next level. As a project manager, you will bring order and process to the client teams with whom you work and you will serve as a resource to analysts as you help them build their technical and client-facing expertise. You will be expected to meet billable hour goals as described by your manager.

The Role

  • Directly contribute to client projects through applying technical actuarial expertise
  • Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients
  • Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams
  • Serve as primary, daily contact to clients on delivery of services
  • Support the generation of new business and broadening relationships with existing clients as part of a broader team, including serving on account management teams for specific assigned clients
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
  • Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to other Senior Consultants, Consultants and Client Relationship Managers
  • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
  • Contribute to intellectual property development and research efforts, including development of new tools and approaches
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
  • Serve as mentor to junior project team associates

The Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with insurance and reinsurance including loss reserving and risk management
  • Strong analytical skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  • The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address clients' business challenges
  • Working knowledge of Excel, MS Project, MS Word
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Fellow or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, Fellow of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent professional qualification required

Preferred

  • Experience working in an actuarial consulting environment
  • Experience working with reserving, financial modelling and pricing software e.g. ResQ, Igloo, Emblem, Radar, Python
