Rewards Consultant

The Role

As a Consultant in the Rewards business, you will be primarily responsible for supporting, managing and delivering engagements that impact how our clients design and manage work and rewards. You’ll contribute thought leadership, help develop new business in partnership with more senior consultants, and act as a coach and mentor for junior associates. You will have exposure to client assignments which will draw on your experience, creativity and analytical ability and your ability to clearly present your ideas and shape client understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations. Your experiences in this role will help you build/expand your technical expertise and develop as a consultant to take on larger and more complex projects and broader accountability for selling and delivering work.

The Responsibilities

  • Draft proposals/statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams
  • Serve as the project manager on client projects, including assisting with the development of appropriate analysis and design recommendations while adhering to Willis Towers Watson quality standards
  • Think strategically in partnering with clients to pioneer unique approaches to addressing their business and HR priorities
  • Support colleagues in providing high quality consulting advice, accurate technical content and engaging deliverables to senior leaders in client companies
  • Use highly effective written and spoken communications to deliver detailed findings, analyses and recommendations to senior leaders of client organizations
  • Support the Rewards Chicago office, regional practice leaders, and senior Rewards consultants in creating and executing a strategy for penetrating the local and regional market and introducing new clients to the firm in order to meet annual revenue goals
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell new products and services both across the Reward Line of Business and other Lines of Business
  • Assist with developing and managing project plans for execution of large, global engagements leveraging cross-functional teams that work together effectively

The Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a compensation and benefits consulting organization, or in a senior compensation role in a large, complex organization
  • Compensation experience in areas including executive compensation, incentive compensation, base salary structures, job evaluation and leveling, and analysis of complex pay issues
  • Work experience that demonstrates strong client service skills 
  • Strong analytical skills both in terms of logic of reasoning and analysis of numerical and financial data
  • Demonstrated value for diversity, excellence and integrity in all that is done
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to travel
