Sales Effectiveness Consultant

Role Summary
As a Sales and Broad-based Rewards Senior Consultant, you will work as part of a team of Reward, Talent Management and Communication consultants to assist clients in their effort to attract, retain, motivate and manage their talent by developing and implementing complex and strategic compensation solutions. You will specialize in Sales Effectiveness and Employee Rewards. You will have the opportunity to primarily work on assignments focused on sales/customer-facing groups and those impacting the broad employee population.
Role Priorities
Financial
  • Accountability for creating and executing a business strategy to penetrate the local and regional market and introduce new clients to the firm in order to meet annual revenue goals
  • Identify opportunities to expand our relationship with existing clients
  • Build long lasting client relationships and bring additional clients to the firm
  • Build relationships with internal and external sources to maximize ways to help our clients

Clients
  • Lead Sales Effectiveness and Rewards engagements Develop leveraged teams that work together effectively
  • Develop project plans and lead the execution of large global engagements
  • Lead projects against established budget, timeline and quality standards
  • Establish a trusted advisor role with clients and provide consistent, superior relationship management
  • Oversee multiple and complex engagements ensuring that projects are completed on a timely and profitable basis
  • Finalize and present quality deliverables to the client
  • Serve as the day-to"EUR"day face to the client on projects, ensuring that rewards strategy aligns with overall human capital strategy and with the client"EURTMs business strategy

People
  • Demonstrate leadership ability by effectively mentoring junior consultants and analysts
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively 

Business Development

  • Participate in and support senior consultants in new business development activities, including proposal development and delivery
  • Recognize opportunities to expand business and work through appropriate channels to do so 

Excellence
  • Design, develop and implement sales compensation strategies and programs (e.g. base pay, sales incentives, performance management) aimed at addressing clients"EURTM business and people issues
  • Design compensation oriented interventions that may include, but are not limited to incentive plans, competitive analyses, survey development and administration, competency based pay, salary structure development, modeling of plan costs and incumbent impact, and plan communication/ roll-out
  • Maintain first-hand knowledge about all of our products and services and key competitors"EURTM strengths, weaknesses and selling tactics
  • The work will include a wide range of projects that often require the integration of other HR related practice areas including communication, change management, talent management, organizational design, measurement, career paths and competency development
  • Maintain high levels of professional excellence
Requirements
  • 5-8 years design-oriented compensation experience in a consulting environment (corporate experience is a plus)
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of sales compensation and sales talent programs and processes
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical skills; the ability to synthesize data and develop insights 
  • Ability to work independently as well as working collaboratively to introduce new value added services internally and to clients
  • Keen business acumen and proven ability to align clients"EURTM business strategies and rewards/talent programs
  • Ability to influence senior management and work across all levels of an organization
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • In-depth expertise and professional network within a major industry/client segment also a plus
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis
  • Bachelor's Degree; an MBA or related advanced degree is desirable
