Senior Actuarial Analyst

A Senior Analyst in this role will work as a member of several project teams supporting clients on a wide variety of engagements covering topics such as financial modeling, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, litigation, pricing, and product development. Our clients demand leading edge products and expertise, and as a consultant with our firm, you can expect to gain tremendous exposure to all facets of insurance operations. This position comes with significant upwards potential for a successful and motivated candidate. You will be a part of Willis Towers Watson’s newly-established Prague office. In addition to serving Czech clients, the office acts as the firm’s hub for Central and Eastern Europe.

The role

You will 
•    Contribute to varied and interesting projects such as: Pricing and product valuations; Competitive Market analysis; Reserve valuations; Enterprise Risk Management; Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring; Self Insurance and Captives
•    Work collaboratively with other associates and consultants to determine initial data needs, examine obtained client information and perform any follow up work required to populate complete data sets
•    Develop a strong understanding of the Life and P&C insurance industry and become familiar with the various steps needed to prepare data for reserving, pricing and capital management activities
•    Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress through exams
•    Prepare the first draft of reports for review by the lead consultant on the client team(s)
•    Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
•    Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
•    Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations and within deadline
•    Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes
•    Contribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals and responding to RFPs
 

The Requirements

•    At least 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm, financial services organization or insurance firm
•    Academic qualification in the area of actuarial science, financial risk, mathematics, statistics or other related discipline
•    Experience in risk management and or financial topics are useful
•    Related experience including developing and projecting actuarial models using actuarial software (Risk Agility, Moses, Prophet is a plus)
•    A problem solver; able to identify and solve challenging problems
•    Analytical; able to draw conclusions from data in a logical, systematic way
•    Conceptual; ability to go beyond the details and see the big picture
•    Results-driven; focused on achieving results that promote business success
•    Availability to travel on an as needed basis
•    Fluency in English, written and spoken
•    Well-developed verbal communication skills in Czech, Slovak or another CEE languages (eg Slovenian, Croatian, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian)
•    Committed to quality; continuously works to achieve the highest quality standards
•    Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment
•    Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Access
