Senior Broker

The Role 
The role is for a senior broker within our Financial Solutions Credit & Political Risk team, based in London. This role will involve working across our various Financial Institution teams and clients to drive new business revenue and assist with the delivery our new business strategy

Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to :

  • New client / prospect identification and mapping
  • Drive the adoption, implementation and development of our electronic trading platform
  • Assist with key account planning for financial institution prospects for the FI Line of Business (LOB)
  • Direct sales to prospects (from initial contact to explaining our value proposition to working with the prospects to experience of value) 
  • Assist with the management of the sales process through use of client management tools for the Line of Business 
  • Provide general advice and support to new clients to streamline transition or product adoption 
  • Assist with the delivery of new business targets within the LOB 
  • Help coordinate the sales activity across the various LOB geographies 
  • Assist with the execution of the LOB strategy working in collaboration with the other LOB teams as well as external stakeholders
  • Assist with the day-to-day management and administration of the client portfolio and providing post-sales support
  • Working with existing clients to review their existing programmes, presenting the best possible solutions and client outcomes

The Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets & attributes: 
 

  • Educated to degree level. ACII Qualification (preferable but not essential)
  • Extensive knowledge of Non-Payment Insurance and market experience in this area
  • Detailed knowledge of the full suite of bank loan products and facility documentation across multiple asset classes
  • Experience in using electronic trading platforms for insuring short-term trade finance instruments
  • Experience of direct sales with a successful track record of delivery
  • Familiarity with CRM sales management tools 
  • Be familiar with the placement process involved when placing Non-Payment Insurance in the insurance market
  • Detailed knowledge of policy wordings
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills essential
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, oral & presentation) skills and interpersonal skills essential 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where lateral thinking, initiative, self-motivation and decision-making skills are crucial
  • Leadership skills
