Senior Property Claim Advocate

The Property Claims Advocate - National Property Claims Team provides service strategy and property claim consulting and advocacy services to clients. Property Claims Advocate will be responsible for the quality and consistency of products and services for a book of clients. Associate will partner with the Willis local business leadership to provide growth support, innovation and ensure execution of the strategy.

The Role
The Property Claims Advocate is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the strategies for the practice. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serving as primary consultant for clients regarding complex consulting and strategy regarding property damage and time element losses
Supporting new business and account growth with sales presentations and RFP
Responsible for client retention through effective advocacy and client focused service
Monitoring the performance of trading partner’s services for your clients
Participating in strategic client meetings as required
Maintaining direct relationships with key clients
Managing numerous specific losses (CAT and non- CAT) at any given time

The Requirements

  • 4 year college degree in business related field preferred
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a claims-related position required and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior insurance carrier or independent adjuster or broker experience preferred
  • Familiarity with property and manuscript policies preferred
  • Extensive property claim knowledge required –moderate Business Interruption claim knowledge recommended
  • Ability to advocate, consult on and manage complex property and time element losses
  • Knowledge of property and time element claim handling and claim adjudication processes and procedures
  • Some boiler and machinery ( machinery breakdown) claim experience preferred
  • Knowledge of property applicable laws, legal codes, procedures and processes involving insurance
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written at executive level
  • Ability to analyze and provide concise conclusions
  • Project management skills
  • Time management skills
  • Adequate computer skills relevant to Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based applications
  • Ability to manage and control high pressure claim situations
  • Limited Experience with international property claims preferred
  • The employee may be required to travel locally approximately 5% to 10% of the time
