Technology Delivery Manager

The Role 
Manages the work required against the ability to deliver technology of the CRB business units and appropriately adjusts priorities when needed. The Delivery Manager is the primary owner of all technology development and responsible for all status reporting of the development team engaged with. The role requires tight interaction with the Solution & Application Architects, Technical Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance individuals. Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills are essential.
  • Partner with Solution/Application Architecture and development teams to build and deliver technology solutions to support CRB needs and ensure the solutions meet or exceed the business expectations.
  • Provide oversight to the development team by understanding and removing obstacles to ensure the work continues to meet the targets of delivery.
  • Follow the selected project methodology to meet the milestones of the project and the delivery.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Technical Business Analyst to define the roadmap for any given product/feature and manage the translation into user stories for inclusion into delivery plans.
  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team to build out and maintain the delivery plan(s).
  • Working with the DevOps to ensure environments are available and releases are done properly
  • Responsible for Sprint burn down metrics to help project team ensure consistent delivery of functionality within the desired timeframes.
  • Responsible for maintaining Feature and User Story status tracking.
The Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is required. 
  • Experience in a comparable role within solution delivery or product/application development functions with some experience in leadership roles. 
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing and influencing technology teams in a non-hierarchical environment.
  • Hands on web development experience with JSON and Python

  • Ability to lead a team of application architects & developers who are responsible for translating business needs into technology solutions either on-shore or off-shore
  • Solid track record in working with development functions to deliver solutions within the defined project methodology
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry is essential with global experience being preferred.
  • Candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, leadership qualities and be a team player.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining high performing teams.
  • Providing hands on development for the team as needed to ensure delivery track is achieved
