As such we are seeking a Backlog Owner to join our New Acquiring Platform team.
This is a key role within the team that will represent the needs of the stakeholders as well as having a clear vision of the service or capability to be conveyed to the engineering teams in a granular and clear fashion.
How will you contribute?
A Backlog Owner will create and maintain the prioritised requirements backlog in Jira in
collaboration with the Engineering team, domain subject matter experts, Business Service Owners,
Product teams and other key stakeholders. You will ensure the backlog is decomposed with an
appropriate level of granularity and definition to ensure the engineering team can be as
efficient as possible. You will also support the team in their agile adoption journey and be
available to answer or clarifying questions.
The Backlog Owner will contribute to relevant ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives) and review sessions and will help deliver end of sprint demos to key stakeholders. Manage any scope conflicts within a Sprint and ensure that the delivered solution are ‘fit for purpose’. You will question why things are being done, and factor in the wider business impact in when writing stories or planning. You will build a solid understanding of the business by gathering information effectively from subject matter experts.
You are able to understand complex problems or technical issues from a product perspective and how they impact the end user in order that the ‘fix’ can be prioritised and will collaborate with delivery teams to ensure that requirements are implemented effectively.
Why you?You have a working understanding of Agile methodology and software development and be experienced in prioritisation classification. You are an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with key stakeholders, both technical and business focused whilst setting expectations and manage scope.
You will have excellent analytical, problem solving skills and business analysis skills to identify stakeholder needs.
