I am an active member of our company LGBT+ ERG and over the years have worked both within the UK and in other countries to raise awareness at senior levels of LGBT+ issues for current and potentially new employees and working to build ally networks across the organisation. I am also one of the founding Directors of Proud Science Alliance, a not-for-profit organisation focussed on the public benefit of promoting LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusion within the healthcare and life sciences sector globally. Through the Proud Science Alliance we have an amazing opportunity to collaborate across Healthcare and Life Sciences industry to share our endeavours in breaking down barriers; furthermore to stretch ourselves and our industry to become leaders in creating a culture of openness, tolerance, inclusion and diversity across the sector; and to ensure that our current and future employees are equally valued, irrespective of their gender identity or sexual orientation, so that they are comfortable to bring their true self to work every day and to be the best they can be. I am a proud transgender woman and have been out and authentic in the workplace since November 2019. With over 30 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, my career started as a QC laboratory technician in the UK and progressed through validation activities into Information Technology Management across diverse technical platforms and international locations. I enjoy the challenge of working in an international and culturally diverse environment and am now motivated to pivot my career to a role where I can drive cultural change and enable belonging.
