Principal Scientist | Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
    GSK
Hello Everyone, I am a Principal Scientist at GSK with 29+ years of experience working within the pharmaceutical industry – and have a strong background in Research and Development (R&D). In addition to my primary role, I am an Inclusion Champion and extremely passionate about driving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) in the workplace – and strive to create a safe environment where everyone feels empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. Through my DE&I work, I represent our UK Leadership Team for Spectrum, GSK’s LGBTQ+ and Ally Employee Resource Group (ERG) – which aims to connect like-minded employees, provide support, and help our company shape a more inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ employees. I am also accountable as the company Lead for Pride, and through this role collaborate with external organisations such as the Proud Science Alliance as the lead coordinator for events, to align a combined approach to our participation. For anyone unfamiliar with the Proud Science Alliance; they are a collective of healthcare and life science sector LGBTQ+ networks, who work together to raise the bar on LGBTQ+ inclusion within their own organisations and in the sector as a whole. Externally, Caribbean carnival culture has always been a major part of my life – and for 10+ years I helped to manage one of the largest Trinidadian Mas Bands in Europe and at the parade in Notting Hill Carnival; including the organisation of many cultural events, carnivals, parties, socials, live concerts and excursions. I now support a smaller charity group, sharing my experience to help them facilitate the delivery of their events; and raise their profile as a business. Please do reach out, should you wish to connect. For more information, visit: www.gsk.com/en-gb/responsibility/our-people/inclusion-and-diversity-at-gsk/ www.proudsciencealliance.org

Executive Vice President, Global Data Operations
    Parexel
Hi All, I currently head up the Global Data Operations team at Parexel. I have been working within the Pharmaceutical and CRO industry for 29 years, as a Statistical Programmer before moving into successive management role covering global Quality Management, Data Management, Biostatistics and Statistical Programming operations in both Full-Service and Functional Service Provider (FSP) engagements. I am also involved in Parexel Pride, an internal committee that seeks to advance and promote an inclusive, “We Care” culture where colleagues can bring their authentic selves to work. Parexel Pride promotes the inclusion and awareness of our LGBTQ+ patients, colleagues, clients, and supplier communities – with heart. The group not only leads the way in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, but also informs programs and policies, so that Parexel remains a workplace for everyone. Outside of work, I am a huge fan of Tennis (both watching and playing), love travelling and watching Sci-Fi TV/Films (I am a Stats Programmer, after all).
