5 tips on how to stay motivated at work

 

1.     Commit to being motivated

Don’t wallow in procrastination, commit to the fact that you want to be motivated and half the battle is already won. Force yourself into finding motivation and force yourself to go above and beyond.

2.     Try a few apps to help track your progress

There are a number of apps you can download that can help keep you motivated: “commitment trackers” like GoalsOnTrack, Stridesapp or Beeminder. These apps help keep your long and short term goals in focus.

3.     Write a to-do list and tick it off

Studies have shown that when we psychically write something down our brain connects more to the subject matter than if we had just typed it up on a computer. Writing it down and having check boxes is also a satisfying way to mark off your progress.

4.     Take a break

Don’t get too overwhelmed with work, remember that breaks are not only important, they’re essential to keeping you motivated. Try doing something psychical, like going for a walk, or some yoga or exercise.

5.     Get feedback

Don’t lock yourself away in your office, go out and ask for some feedback. While it can be scary to get other people’s opinions, having a fresh set of eyes on your project can only help strengthen it.
