Adele Wears Pride Flag During Her Heartwarming Performance At BST Hyde Park Festival

July 5, 2022

During Adele’s homecoming gig in Hyde Park at the weekend, the spellbinding singer draped herself in a Progress Pride flag.

A longtime supporter and ally of the LGBTQ+ community, the singer wrapped herself up in the Progress Pride flag and waved it above her head as she performed her heart-wrenching song "When We Were Young."

This was the 34-year-olds second performance at London’s BST Hyde Park, her first public concert in 5 years, taking place hours after London’s Pride Parade.

“Happy Pride. I wore my hair out today to try and be a bit draggy,” Adele reportedly told the audience.

One fan attending the concert shared the story behind Adele’s donning of the flag in a Twitter thread, as Attitude reports.

Upon arriving at the concert with a flag, Dean Williams says he was approached by a member of Adele's team who asked if the singer could borrow it for her performance. “OF COURSE I SAID YES!” he tweeted was his response.

During her performance, Adele called friends Jack and Dean over to the barrier to give them “the best seats in the house,” in the Diamond VIP section.

He tweeted: “Then, during "When We Were Young," [Adele] appeared wearing the very flag we bought for eight quid at Holborn station just hours before! I cried.”

Dean also shared clips he was sent of his exchange with Adele and which show the moment he and Jack were invited over the barrier.
