Best Place to Work Award 2020

Creative Assembly has been awarded several Best Place to Work Awards in the annual Gamesindustry.Biz event, which seeks to recognise the best UK games studios to work for.

2020 marks the fourth year in a row that Creative Assembly has won an award - and with over 700 employees it is also the largest studio to receive recognition.

Creative Assembly has been awarded:

  • One of the Best Places to Work in the UK Video Games Industry, scoring highly through anonymous staff surveys and winning a Gamesindustry.Biz coveted Best Places badge.
  • The Education Award for the studio’s outreach programme, The Legacy Project, for the second year in a row
  •  The UK’s Best Boss award for Gareth Edmondson, Studio Director, who took over leadership at the studio in April 2020, at the beginning of the UK COVID-19 lockdown

Speaking about the awards, Gareth Edmondson, Studio Director said;

“It’s fantastic to see Creative Assembly recognised as one of the best UK studios, especially as we are by far the largest to be recognised in these awards. As we have grown we have worked hard to maintain our culture and our craft-led development ethos – that’s a hard task when there are 700 people on multiple projects across multiple studios.

“Awards like this are a great testament to what we’ve achieved, especially as they are based on anonymous employee feedback.

“We are incredibly lucky to house so many talented people who constantly challenge us and make sure we are striving for the best both with our games and our studio life. So, thank you to everyone at CA!”

The awards are the latest to be added to the studio’s growing collection, which include both a Best Places badge and the Education Award in 2019, and the overall Best Large Studio Award for 2017 and 2018.
