Coming Soon: ‘Hearts Beat Loud’ stars Nick Offerman as a dad bonding with his queer daughter before she leaves for college
Nick Offerman, of Parks
and Recreation fame, stars in Brett Haley’s latest film Hearts Beat Loud. The film follows Frank
(Offerman) as he tries to bond with his daughter Sam (out actress Kiersey
Clemons) before she heads off to college. The two form a band and accidently
create a hit song. Meanwhile Sam begins to find a blossoming romantic
relationship with Rose.
The film has received positive reviews so far, with Nick Offerman saying the film’s queer themes don’t overshadow the movie: “…We’re all made up of all different colors of the rainbow, and let’s get on with the story of the movie, which is a dad and his daughter dealing with some life issues.”
The film comes out in select theatres this month, just in time for Pride.
