What do you enjoy about working for Enterprise?
I started my career with Enterprise around 9 months ago. This is my first job after completing my university degree. I had heard a lot about Enterprise before joining - the company was always mentioned at careers fairs and other business-related events for being one of the top employers for graduates, so my expectations for the job were met and exceeded. Having studied Business Management at University, this role was a perfect fit as I am constantly applying theoretical concepts to real life situations. I love working for Enterprise as I get to interact with such a variety of people throughout the day, whether it’s face-to-face or digitally. I enjoy the fact that every day is always completely different to the one before, making it such a fun and friendly place to work.
I did not feel the need to ‘come out’ to my colleagues. Everyone was so friendly and helpful that solid relationships were quickly built, meaning that I was able to be my authentic self, right from the beginning. My experience with being a part of the LGBTQ+ community has always been positive when working at Enterprise. Not only within my branch, but as a company ethnicity and LGBTQ+ are well represented; there is an ongoing focus on diversity and inclusion here at Enterprise. For example, this year alone, Enterprise attended over 30 Pride events across the UK with over 500 of their employees, highlighting their support and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community! It has been amazing to work for such a diverse and inclusive workplace as they value and respect each employee. As well as the large volume of support for the LGBTQ+ community, Enterprise is also keen to raise awareness for religious and/or important celebrations, encouraging employees to take time off for those who celebrate religious holidays.
For me, it’s extremely important to provide a diverse and inclusive workplace. We spend a lot of our waking hours in a working environment, so diversity and inclusion are paramount to the well-being of all employees. Countless studies have also demonstrated that a more diverse workforce produce better results and increased productivity simply because different people bring different and unique ideas, strengthening the overall performance. I am so glad my first job as a graduate was at such an inclusive and inspiring company where each employee is valued and respected.
