Incredible Gay Hindu Wedding Goes Viral

Brilliant photos from a gay Hindu wedding in India have gone viral.

Amit Shah and Aditya Madiraju were already married in New York at the start of the year, but wanted a more traditional ceremony for their friends in family.

“The fact that the ceremony took place at a temple under religious observation is a huge thing for our community,” Madiraju told Gay Star News.

“I guess it is unheard of, and we didn’t realise the impact it would have. The response had been so overwhelming and we are honoured to share our story with the world.

“It seems like people need to hear our story to feel empowered and we are excited to provide people with some inspiration.”

“We didn’t realise the impact a simple wedding at a temple would have on people around the world looking for hope,” he added in Instagram.

“There is no secret to acceptance, tolerance, or happiness. You just have to find the right partner to take the step with. Let the truth of your love speak for itself.”

Same-sex marriage is still not legally recognised in India, although many gay couples perform symbolic marriages, which is not prohibited by law.
