Indonesian Ministries Are Banning LGBT+ Jobseekers, They Only Want “Normal Ones”
Governmental bodies in Indonesia are sharing job advertisements that exclude members of the LGBT+ community, claiming they only want “normal ones”, ‘Gay Times’ report.
The Ministries of Defence and Trade, as well as the Attorney’s Office, are sharing job ads saying that applicants “must not be mentally disabled and not show sexual orientation or behavioural deviations.”
An Attorney’s Office spokesperson, trying to defend these exclusions, said: “I mean, we just want the normal ones. We don’t want [to accept] the odd ones […].”
According to ‘Gay Times’ “The spokesperson stopped short of confirming whether this ban would be considered discriminatory under Indonesian law.”
