ITV Presenter Phillip Schofield has Come Out as Gay

Well-known TV presenter Phillip Schofield has come out as gay with a statement via Instagram. 

He has been married to Stephanie Lowe for 27 years and announced, “With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to the terms with the fact that I am gay.” 

The This Morning presenter continues “My inner conflict contrasts with an outside world that has changed so much for the better. Today, quite rightly, being gay is a reason to celebrate and be proud. Yes, I am feeling pain and confusion, but that only comes from the hurt that I am causing to my family.” 

A number of celebrities have voiced their support for him, including his This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby. Earlier today she posted a photo of them together with the caption “never been more proud of my friend than I am today
