Joe Biden Makes Awkward Comment About Homophobia Being Acceptable Five Years Ago

US Presidential hopeful and former Vice President, Joe Biden made an awkward comment about homophobia at an event in Seattle on Saturday (June 29).

Biden was reportedly suggesting how far gay rights have progressed in such a short time. He claimed that “if someone at a business meeting in Seattle made fun of a gay waiter [five years ago] people would just let it go.”

His comments didn’t resonate with the audience, with someone shouting back, “Not in Seattle!”

Biden then said that today if someone said homophobic remarks “that person would not be invited back”.

There is no recording of the event, although CNNreported “the audience vocally responded to the remark and some in the crowd said homophobic comments would not have gone unchallenged even before five years ago.”
