Leaked Casting Call Reveals ‘The Craft’ Reboot Will Have Trans Lead

leaked casting call for The Craft reboot has revealed the new film will cast a Latinx trans woman in one of the leads.

 

Shared on Twitter by GLAAD’s Alex Schmider, the casting notice calls for someone “transgender, to play Latina”in the leading role of Lourdes.

 

Lourdes is 17, a punk rocker, and was thrown out of her home by her “super-Catholic mother”. She now lives with her grandmother and is introduced to supernatural practises through her.



 

The reboot is being produced by Blumhouse Productions, the same production company behind modern horror classics like Insidious, Paranormal Activity, and The Purge.

 

Zoe Lister-Joneshas signed on to direct. She previously appeared in New Girl and had her directorial debut with the 2017 film Band Aid.
