Lesbian Japanese Couple to “Get Married” in All 26 Countries That Have Same Sex Marriage

A lesbian couple in Japan have said they plan to stage wedding photos in all 26 countries during a six-month trip around the world, reports The Asahi Shimbun.

Misato Kawasaki, 21, and Mayu Otaki, 22, both university students, are undertaking the project to protest the lack of marriage equality in their home country, and “to show through our wedding photos that being lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) is normal so that those who are troubled by their sexual status can harbour hope.”

The pair are crowdfunding their trip and plan to open a wedding planning company for same-sex partners when they return to Japan.
