LGBTQ+ Founders Report

There’s zero data on LGBTQ+ founders in the UK. The complete lack of data that exists for LGBTQ+ founders in the UK means they are consistently overlooked as a group experiencing unique challenges by investors. This is in contrast to the available datasets on LGBTQ+ founders in the US as well as on black and women founders in the UK.

Because there is no data on LGBTQ+ founders in the UK, we don’t know the extent of how underrepresented this group is in the startup ecosystem. However, early data from the LGBTQ+ Founder Report shows that a majority of LGBTQ+ founders are hiding their identity from investors. Some have even shared shocking personal stories of their experiences.
