Neil Patrick Harris Announced as the International Ambassador for Tel Aviv Pride

Out gay actor Neil Patrick Harris has been announced as the International Ambassador for Tel Aviv Pride by the Israeli Tourism Ministry website.

 

The actor will attend the event on June 14 with his husbandDavid Burtkaand eight-year-old twins Harper and Gideon.

 

“Tel Aviv has become a symbol of the openness and acceptance of the LGBTQ community on the world stage,” Harris said.



 

“We are honoured to be in Israel for the first time and have the honour to take part in this beautiful celebration and to stand with the LGBTQ community in Israel and around the world, especially on the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.”

 

While Tel Aviv is considered one of the most LGBT-friendly cities in the world, Israel has yet to legalise same-sex marriage. Last week 23 couples took part in a mass wedding in the city to fight for equal marriage.
