“No Gays Allowed” in New York’s Times Square

A billboard in New York’s Times Square is telling people there are “No Gays Allowed”, NBC reports.

The billboard isn’t a homophobic message, but rather it’s a protesting the actions of Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a legal firm that is undermining LGBT+ anti-discrimination laws across the US.

“ADF opposes LGBT equality and advocates for measures intended to make LGBT people second-class citizens,” NoGaysAllowed.org writes.

“ADF is trying to legalize discrimination against LGBT people in health care, wedding services, the workplace, and public accommodations.”

The law firm is seeking to strengthen religious freedom laws to give Christians the right to discriminate against gay people.

“ADF has actively supported measures domestically and abroad that would — and have — put LGBT+ people in jail for being open about their sexuality.”

“(They are) trying to erase LGBT+ people and take away their basic rights under the guise of religious freedom.”
