PrEP Lowers HIV Anxiety Among Gay And Bisexual Men, Study Shows
After interviewing more than 1,500 men with an average age of 37, a study published by the ‘Journal of Acquires Immune Deficiency Syndrome’ has shown that PrEP reduces HIV anxiety among gay and bisexual men.
The study revealed that men who were considered high-risk and practiced PrEP showed “lower levels of HIV anxiety”. There was no difference observed in men who were considered low-risk.
‘HIV Plus Mag’ reports that “by the end of the study, it was clear from researchers that PrEP was greatly associated with lower anxiety as it related to HIV. This benefit, they argue, could be used to help promote PrEP use among men who are most at-risk.”
