Rainbow Crosswalk Opens In San Diego
The first rainbow crosswalk has opened in San Diego’s Hillcrest area.
The rainbow crosswalk is also the first in California to also feature a rainbow flag.
The crosswalk is located at the corner of Normal Street and University Avenue.
Councilmember Chris Ward’s office released a statement saying, in part: “I am proud that my office has made this symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBTQ) pride a reality.”
Ward was there for the unveiling and stated: “As an out and proud elected official, I am part of a legacy that many of you here today helped create.”
