Shooting at LGBTQ+ Club Leaves 5 Injured

A Black Pride at an Atlanta Marquette Lounge Labor Day event turned into chaos as gunfire erupted. Five people were shot, although fortunately not fatally.

According to a local report, a fight broke out outside of the club, which turned into shooting, although this has yet to be confirmed.

Footage posted by the club on Instagram showed Lil Kim performed at the event. It is unclear if she was at the venue at the time of the shooting. The club was hosting a Black Pride block party, attracting LGBTQ+ people of color from around Atlanta to celebrate Labor Day, a US holiday.

The shooting comes amid increased violence over the weekend, against both LGBTQ+ and cisgendered heterosexual people alike. The Atlanta Police Department is investigating but a suspect has not yet been identified. The case continues.
