Straight-Pride Has Been Denied By Modesto City

Modesto, a Northern California city has denied a request to host a ‘straight pride’ parade.

Don Grundmann, the event’s organizer, stated the rally is “in support of heterosexuality, Christianity and white contributions to Western civilization”.

He states: “Essentially, it boils down to two religious views of the world. One is Christianity, which is represented by heterosexuality, a culture of life, and its opponent is the LGBT movement, which is represented by an opposing religion and an opposing view of life.”

Opponents argue the parade would be promoting hatred towards the LGBT+ community and minorities. Specifically, Chris Holland, who planned to stage a counterprotest said about the National Straight Pride Coalition that it is “a thinly veiled hate organization”.

He continues, “They are dressing up their homophobic agenda as a celebration, which mocks everything that pride is about”.

The permit request to hold the parade in a local park has been denied over safety concerns because the group has lost its liability insurance.
