The Mayor of London Heads New ‘It Gets Better’ Campaign For LGBT+ Youth
Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, is fronting the new ‘It Gets Better Campaign’, a video project aimed at helping LGBT+ teenagers around the world.
In the video Khan credits the LGBT+ community with making London “a richer, brighter, more vibrant place.”
“But I also know that many have struggled with their identity at some point in their lives,” he adds.
“I’d like to share with you some of the experiences and stories from members of our staff network. While they capture the challenges and sense of isolation LGBT+ people can sometimes feel, they also have a hope and optimism for the future.”
Staff from London City Hall then share their experiences of growing up LGBT+, admitting it was hard but that their lives have immensely improved since leaving high school and finding acceptance in London.
