Video of Polish Gay Couple Staging 100 Wedding Proposals Goes Viral
A gay couple in Poland have staged over 100 wedding proposals across the country to protest the treatment of LGBT+ people.
Same-sex marriage is currently illegal in Poland, although the gay couple, Jakub Kwieciński and David Mycek, already got married in Portugal in 2017.
In the video, they ask strangers to film a surprise public proposal. The reactions in the video are mixed – most, however, are positive. In Szembek Square they are even met with applause.
Although one proposal in a crowded marketplace goes wrong and the pair are forced to leave after a confrontation.
In another proposal one woman stops filming after she discovers they are a gay couple.
