Will Young Praises Prince William For Saying He Wouldn’t Mind If His Child Was Gay
Earlier this year, Prince William visited an LGBT+ youth charity, a first-ever LGBT+ youth charity visit from the Royal Family.
When the Prince was asked: “If your child one day in the future said, ‘Oh I’m gay, oh I’m lesbian,’ whatever, how would you react.” the Prince answer was: “I think, you really don’t start thinking about that until you are a parent, and I think — obviously absolutely fine by me,”. He went on to say: “I wish we lived in a world where it's really normal and cool, but particularly for my family, and the position that we are in, that's the bit I am nervous about,”.
Will Young, the former Pop Idol star, was really moved by that statement and has gone on to write a letter to Prince William thanking him.
“I want to let him know what a wonderful thing he did,” Young says. ‘Him standing up and saying, “I wouldn’t mind if my child was gay” is just incredible,’ he continues.
