HSBC inclusive employer
HSBC

HSBC has a culture of inclusivity at all levels of the organisation and is a place where employees are encouraged to be their true and authentic selves. The Bank has an established and mature Pride network that is consistently striving to make the business a better place for colleagues, customers and the wider community. In the UK, we sponsor several Pride events and engage with LGBT+ charities at a local and national level.

LGBT+ colleagues benefit from an extensive ally network, and there are a number of visible senior role models across the global business. If you are looking to build your career, then HSBC offers a wealth of opportunities all over the world.

As a bi man, I have always felt encouraged and supported by HSBC, and I am incredibly proud to work for an organisation that genuinely embraces and celebrates me for who I am.

I have been a member of our LGBTQ+ inclusive 'Pride' group for 8 of the 9 years I have worked for HSBC - and now lead the network of 15,000+ employees globally. I first started in the Retail part of HSBC UK in 2014, in one of our branches, and now work in Human Resources driving our Inclusion strategy for Europe. My work with the Pride network was hugely instrumental in my career progression- in building my skills, my network and my passion for driving cultural change for our employees and our communities. HSBC has been a fantastic place to work for me. The breadth of roles available meant that when I was looking for something new I could find it- and the ability to make real change is exponential when you are an organisation of 220K+ employees across 60+ countries. We are now a globally leading employer for LGBTQ+ inclusion (Stonewall Gold award/Top 20 Global Employer since 2015), and continue to make progress in working to reduce the barriers for our LGBTQ+ colleagues around the world.
