Role:                           Ceded Reinsurance Junior Buyer

Division:                     Ceded Reinsurance

Job Summary:           

Specialist international insurance company Beazley are looking for a Ceded Reinsurance Junior Buyer. The successful candidate will combine detailed knowledge of business requirements with market knowledge and problem solving skills to pro-actively and creatively support delivery of the businesses reinsurance needs. 

Key Responsibilities 

Provide proactive support to the Reinsurance Managers in the execution of their remit. 

Reinsurance Buying

  • Develop an understanding of current and likely future reinsurance needs of the business units.
  • Support the Reinsurance Manager(s) with preparation of renewal submissions and marketing presentations.
  • Produce data analysis to support the placement of reinsurance
  • Support the co-ordination of reinsurance wordings creation and agreement
  • Manage the placement process and controls on behalf of the Reinsurance Manager(s)
  • Support the Reinsurance Manager(s) with liaison with the Technical Administration Unit to ensure the effective post-placement handover of all contracts.
  • Build strong working relationships with reinsurance brokers and reinsurers

Operations

  • Risk management:  support the Reinsurance Manager(s) with a system to ensure appropriate sign off from all relevant parties at every stage of the reinsurance purchasing process.
  • Provide pro-active support to the Reinsurance Manager(s) with the co-ordination of KPI calculations
  • Provide the Ceded Reinsurance Reporting team with input into the Regulatory returns – e.g., Lloyd’s returns.
