Analyst - Placement Analyst (APAC)

Job Description

  • Execute the pre-placement, placement and post-placement activities on behalf of onshore team in the Asia Pacific region, following agreed processes, tools and templates.
  • Core delivery will include:
    1. Initiating the renewal activity 90/120 days prior to expiry of clients’ Health & Benefits plans
    2. Approach insurance carriers/vendors for required information and undertake data (financial, membership, invoices) processing and analysis to prepare pre-renewal reports, using agreed upon tools, standards and techniques
    3. Prepare Quote Slips and distribute bid requests (RFP) to target carriers/vendors
    4. Collect, summarize and analyze proposal findings
    5. Support the production of renewal report / prepare placement / renewal deliverables for clients
    6. Manage queries/requests from the carriers/vendors/clients or internal colleagues and escalate them when required
    7. Follow up with clients on renewal documentation and census data
    8. Liase with Data/Billing and Invoicing Team to validate and clean benefits enrolment and eligibility data and ensure correctness of carrier/vendor invoic
    9. Follow regulatory procedure as defined by originating country
    10. Peer review team members’ work prior to delivery to clients.

In addition to this, you will:

  • Attend training, meetings and/other educational events to increase understanding of trends, regulations and developments in the market.
  • Receive training from experienced consultants.
  • Comply with internal excellence and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to build stakeholders’ confidence.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to respond to multiple stake holders effectively and in a timely manner
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict deadlines is a must
  • Flexibility and proven ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Highly developed critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to establish priorities, work independently and with limited supervision
  • Ability to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriate
  • Take accountability for quality and on-time delivery of own work and involving other team members when appropriate
  • Ability to review and check data against subject domain knowledge (e.g., Health and Benefits plans) and understand the data’s applicability/accuracy for the designated purpose
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:

2+ years’ experience working with Health and Benefits plans, ideally gained in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or health underwriting/actuarial function of an insurance company
