Transgender Flag Day in Amsterdam
De trans vlag is een symbool voor transgender pride, diveriteit en transgender rechten. Zondag 19 augustus om 16:00 organiseren TransAmsterdam samen met cafe de Lellebel de Transgender Flag Day in Amsterdam.

19 Augustus 1999 is de trans vlag ontworpen door Monica Helms een transvrouw uit Amerika. Op 19 augustus 2014 is de trans vlag door Monica Helms gedoneerd aan het Smithsonian Instituut. In 2017 heeft TransAmsterdam de eerste Amsterdam TransPride vlag van 2014 gedoneerd aan het Amsterdam Museum. De trans vlag is nu onderdeel van de collectie van het Amsterdam Museum.
Monica Helms describes the meaning of the transgender pride flag as follows:
* "The stripes at the top and bottom are light blue, the traditional color for baby boys.
* The stripes next to them are pink, the traditional color for baby girls.
* The stripe in the middle is white, for those who are intersex, transitioning or consider themselves having a neutral or undefined gender.
* The pattern is such that no matter which way you fly it, it is always correct, signifying us finding correctness in our lives."
