Rose Greene LGBT+ Rights Campaigner Dies At 72
Prominent LGBT+ rights campaigner Rose Greene has passed away at age 72 following a battle with bone cancer.
Greene helped speared some of the largest HIV fundraising events in America, including 500-mile bike ride that raised more than $16 million.
“Today the Center joins our community in mourning the loss of a true warrior in the fight for LGBT equality, health, and happiness,”said Lorri L. Jean, CEO of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
“Today the Center lauds this tireless champion of the oppressed, this extraordinary, amazing, powerful, hilarious, and loving woman. May she rest in peace,”
Greene was also a key figure in fighting “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”. She married her wife on June 17 2008, the day after same-sex marriage became legal in California.
