Accounting and Controlling Lead, US


As an Accounting and Controlling Lead, your role will be to support the overall preparation of financial statements by executing accurate and timely completion of accounting activities in compliance with internal guidelines and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for providing accounting, reporting and consolidation expertise. You will support in accounting and reporting matters to business/reporting units through resolution of accounting and reporting questions, financial statement preparation and reviews follow up on accounting issues. You will also assist with preparation of financial reports in compliance with internal guidelines, procedures and external regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with the order fulfillment team to release orders
  • Accounts payable duties
  • On a monthly basis perform closings, journal entries, disclosure reports for unusual items, reconciliation, state and federal tax payments and treasury activities
  • On a weekly basis review payroll entries and invoices for payments, including invoice coding
  • Contribute to the definition, implementation and improvement of accounting policies
  • Perform general accounting activities, applying techniques and standards to solve unusual issues
  • Provide perspective on accounting matters, based on well established principles and practices and ensures the implementation of changes in Accounting and Reporting Guidelines (A&RG)
  • Execute established accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and local instructions
  • Perform quality checks on financial reporting data, including analytical review of major fluctuations
  • Participate in initiatives and projects to continuously improve financial accounting and reporting processes and tools
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on accounting and reporting issues
  • Conduct investigations and reconciliation of accounting transaction, as necessary and facilitates the resolution of accounting and reporting issues
  • Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions
  • Perform Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) processes
  • Maintain reporting procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Participate in internal control testing and prepares relevant documentation

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred or Associate’s degree with minimum 5 years of experience
  • Previous experience in accounts receivables, payables, credit and collections, finance or a related field
  • Proficiency with SAP and advanced excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), regulations and best practices
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92,500 and $171,500 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus. myBenefitsABB.com
