Associate Product Manager - Load Interrupter Switchgear


In this role you will be responsible for the long-term profitable growth of the Load Interrupter Switchgear (LIS) product line into targeted market segments, by developing and managing the life cycle, according to market needs and Business Line strategy and targets. You will play a key role within the ANSI/NEMA Distribution Solutions Portfolio Management team.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the Product Line Manager in the new product development process for LIS from project specification to product launch
  • Define customer value proposition per segment and channel, ensuring clear communication to channels and users while delivering clear positioning within the portfolio and against competitor offerings
  • Ensure proper product positioning and pricing strategy with clearly defined values per product type to address different channel/segment /geography needs
  • Assist sales and marketing teams in the launch and market introduction of new products providing documentation and education
  • Ensure correctness and comprehensiveness of product documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (i.e., Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Research & Development and Supply Chain) to ensure all product and market objectives are met
  • Development of product trainings for internal/technical teams
  • Provide technical support to customers or other internal functions for the OEM offering
  • Drive product line cost accuracy in our ERP system (SAP) and the sales configurator (Empower)
  • Support the development, preparation, and maintenance of the Empower sales configurator
  • Serve as the product line data referent. Manage and coordinate efforts to ensure complete and accurate product data, models, etc., for both internal and customer use
  • Provide support, when required, to maintain cost data accuracy in SAP and Empower for the ANSI MV switchgear portfolio. This includes metal-clad switchgear and motor control centers

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent area of studies
  • Over 2 years of experience in an industrial environment in an engineering, product marketing, sales, or product management role
  • Basic knowledge of power distribution products, in particular, medium voltage switchgear and motor control
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication and customer relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and purposeful with analytical, logical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, combined with an excellent style of collaboration
  • Assertiveness and ability to work in a virtual team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially with Excel
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% including internationally
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
