Junior project engineer – do you want to get your career on track with pharma automation projects?


If you have a technical education and motivation to learn new things, develop yourself and gradually gain greater responsibility, then we have just the right job for you. You get the chance to be part of the big pharma wave in Denmark and work hands-on in the largest overall expansion of pharma production facilities in Denmark's history. Your focus will be to build automation solutions into new production areas in Kalundborg, and you will be involved all the way from design to final handover to the customer. You will be part of an international project team in Denmark together with 3-5 more experienced Application/Project Engineers, from whom you can learn a lot. When you develop ABB's automation solutions, you help ensure optimal control and management of the processes in production and thus create a safer production of pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, your work contributes to minimizing energy consumption and reducing waste for the benefit of the environment and climate. Your responsibilities

  • Be trained in all phases of pharma automation projects from design to final handover
  • Learn to program ABB's 800xA controllers for controlling of production areas (PLC/HMI)
  • Participate in planning and execution of FAT and SAT tests
  • Participate in signal and function tests
  • Prepare documentation for your work – pharma has the highest requirements for safety and quality
  • Develop yourself and gradually gain greater, independent responsibility
  • Be a good colleague who helps, shares his knowledge and contributes to us having fun together

Your background

  • A technical education such as engineer, marine engineer, automation technologist or similar
  • Some knowledge of PLC programming – can be from your studies
  • Maybe some knowledge of pharma – the most important thing is that your motivation for working with pharma
  • Ability and motivation to document your work
  • Great desire to learn new things and develop your skills – e.g. by asking and seeking guidance from colleagues
  • The courage to try on your own
  • Good English skills – much of the daily dialogue takes place in English

In addition, we draw on 20-40 colleagues from the global ABB organization. We work in teams of 3-5 Engineers who, under the leadership of a Lead Engineer, are jointly responsible for establishing automation in a specific production area. Whether you want to be based in Ballerup, Kalundborg or Middelfart is entirely up to you, as long as you are ready to be at least one day a week with the customer in Bagsværd and/or Kalundborg – and daily during periods of test activities. At all locations, we have hybrid workplace with great flexibility.
