Packaging Print Production Designer, Device Packaging Experience

Amazon.com is looking for a talented design/production hybrid: a PRINT PRODUCTION DESIGNER to join our packaging design team. The ideal candidate will have the creative ability to extend and adapt our design system, and deliver clean, print-ready artwork in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, print expertise, design ability, typesetting skills, and acute attention to detail. The ability to undertake multiple projects and communicate with key stakeholders is essential. An online portfolio demonstrating printed design and production work is REQUIRED.

• Designing and producing packaging artwork
• Extending and adapting artwork to new SKU's
• Creating and editing presentation decks
• Assisting with soft-proof/hard-proof reviews
• Coordinating with external creative vendors
• Optimizing digital images and assets for print
• Helping build and update packaging style guides
• Completing multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Supporting design and production with flexibility

San Francisco, CA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 4+ years of design experience
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suit applications, with high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat using macOS
- Significant experience with print and/or packaging
- BA/BS in Design or equivalent
- Proficiency in Photoshop retouching/color correction
- Ability to create and maintain scalable solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Multi-language artwork experience
- International packaging experience
- Illustration editing or creation skills
- Experience with design for sustainability
- Experience with design for accessibility
- Experience with or interest in AI
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Note that this is NOT a UX/UI role - significant experience in PRINT is necessary!

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
