Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Security Finance

Amazon Security Finance is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who is passionate about data, analytics, science, and automation. Our team seeks to Invent & Simplify solutions that increase the speed and quality of decision-making through business process automation, business analysis and reporting.

• Partner with Amazon Security Finance and its customers to gather requirements, and collaborate with technology partners to design scalable data pipelines and dashboards.
• Solve complex business problems by supporting the Amazon Security organization through various ad-hoc reporting, analyses, and data processing needs.
• Drive the BI solution, development, and maintenance of innovative and scalable data products across the organization, with the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
• Responsible for data quality, data lineage, and has a solid understanding of the sources of data and how these are consumed by customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries
- Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
