Technical Program Manager., Robotics Operations Data Solutions

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Technical Program Manager to work directly with our teams of software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists, and to support them in the development and execution against cross-program roadmaps. You will be joining the Global Robotics Delivery organization, whose goal is to support supply chain and manufacturing to launch fulfillment centers. This role is to support a data engineering and science team across a portfolio of products. A successful candidate is proficient in roadmap development, requirement definition, scoping, and execution. An ideal candidate is proficient in data products and services, has great communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders, and a drive to achieve results in a collaborative team environment.

Key job responsibilities
Must have a technical degree and experience working with software teams.
Must have experience with Agile Scrum program management methodology.
Must have experience scoping and prioritizing requirements.
Must have experience writing and executing roadmaps.
Must be well versed in AWS data products and services.

Have experience with complex data system design, including experience with analytics and data science deliverables.
Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure the appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results.
Develop and drive software and science development project schedules.
Act as the interface between customers and engineers.
Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at the functional level.
Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple program teams with competing priorities.

A day in the life
There is no typical day in the life of a TPM at Amazon Robotics! The role is dynamic, and successful TPMs are able to manage a variety of tasks and context switch as needed from strategic planning to technical decision-making, to tactical execution, and critical time-sensitive problem-solving.

TPMs are responsible for hosting stand-ups and status meetings, developing content for program reviews, managing risks & resources, and keeping schedules up to date and development teams on task.

A TPM may switch between all of these activities throughout the day, or may spend an entire day dedicated to a resolving a specific problem, or supporting the team with a hands-on approach, building a prototype, executing a test, or architecting a solution.

About the team
The Robotics Operations Data Solutions (RODS) team supports the mission of the Quality, Technology, and Strategy (QTS) organization within Global Robotics Delivery (GRD) by providing the data infrastructure, advanced analytics, and scientific modeling needed for Robotics Supply Chain, Robotics Manufacturing Technical Operations, and other customer teams in Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics (FTR) to make efficient, cost-optimized, data-driven decisions. We are a cross-functional team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers with skills that span the complete data lifecycle.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
- Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
