For our team in Dreilinden, close to Berlin, we are searching for a (Senior) Backend Engineer
within our area focussed on car dealers. You will build products that enable dealers to build
awareness about their current offers among people currently seeking to buy a vehicle. For this we
want to offer opportunities to stand-out on the mobile.de marketplace, advertise in the web and
provide key insights into their vehicle specific market context.
Joining an interdisciplinary development team as a (Senior) Java Backend Engineer you will be responsible for:
Building and extend backend code of micro services for demand generating dealer products
Working based on agile principles with frequent deployments, test automation and early feedback loops
Collaborating with other teams within mobile.de and our technology partners
Sharing your knowledge and experience as part of code reviews, pair programming and team presentations
Taking initiative to continuously improve our code, data pipelines, reporting and processes within the team
Several years of professional experience as a Java developer (Java 8/11), ideally together with Spring / Spring Boot on Linux
You are keen to build microservices and distributed systems in a web technology environment and speak HTTP & REST/JSON like your mother tongue
Sound knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. Mongo, Cassandra)
Experience with test automation, continuous delivery systems and build tools (e.g. Jenkins, Git, Gradle, Maven)
You believe in collaboration using agile software engineering principles like working in iterations and writing clean code
Experience with data engineering on Google Cloud Platform, with Spark, Hadoop or Kafka would be a plus
Domain knowledge about online or social advertising would be beneficial
Being familiar with functional and reactive programming is beneficial
