eBay’s innovative Legal Department is seeking business-focused attorney to support our legal team in Draper, Utah. This role is responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of strategic deals and will drive the structure, negotiation, and execution of commercial contracts and any related policies. This position will provide legal counseling and work directly with the business units to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.


  • Serve as a strategic liaison partner to various business units, building strong positive relationships

  • Counsel business unit clients on deal structuring, term negotiation, and operational implementation

  • Provide proactive, forward-thinking, and creative guidance to senior leaders in a faced-paced environment

  • Prepare, negotiate and review general commercial contracts, terms and conditions, technology agreements, licensing agreements and service agreements.

  • Mitigate related business and legal risks, including data, IP, and regulatory risk

  • Collaborate effectively with counterparts in other business units and legal teams to provide consistent creative advice

  • Think strategically about how to scale the department and implement operational efficiencies to improve our ways of working

  • Perform special projects/initiatives and other duties as may be assigned

Skills Sought:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial expense contracts, including those with international third party suppliers and partners.

  • Value the importance of teamwork and work collaboration. Good sense of humor

  • Technology negotiation experience.

  • Ability to balance legal and business risk

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to all levels of legal and business leadership

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced culture; have a solutions-oriented focus

  • Capable of working with minimal direction

  • identify, prioritize, analyze and resolve a wide variety of legal issues quickly and effectively

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive sophisticated commercial and technology transactions

  • Possess and demonstrate shared leadership values and competencies – adventurous, driven, inventive, phenomenal teammate, coach, and communicator

  • Additional in-house experience with knowledge of business practices at large national or international company preferred

  • Bar membership in UT
