Student Experience - Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager FTC – 15 month secondment

The opportunity This is a fantastic opportunity to join UK&I Talent Development within the Student Experience Team, where you will support the delivery of EY’s Student programmes.

As the Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the Student Experience team has appropriate measures in place to ensure EY’s Student model is high quality and meets the expectations of our external regulators. You will be expected to have strong working relationships across Talent functions.

Working closely with other members of the Student Experience team you will require an awareness of apprenticeship rules and regulations as well as knowledge of EY’s student model within each Service Line.

You will have a role working collaboratively in a highly sought-after team at EY, with plenty of opportunities for on-the-job feedback and coaching.

You will report to the Student Experience Enablement Lead.

Your key responsibilities Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Establish and embed appropriate measures to ensure all EY Student programmes and Apprenticeship delivery is in line with the expectations of external regulators such as the Education and Skills Funding (ESFA) and Ofsted and deliver any necessary training to others
  • Oversee the management of EY compliance with ESFA Funding rules in relation to the enrolment of Apprentices on programme, such as eligibility, initial skills assessments, prior learning, delayed starts and training plan documentation
  • Put in place, and perform, regular audit processes to test the quality and compliance of EY's student programmes with external expectations, funding rules and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure appropriate meeting preparation and arrangements are in place to support Quality Assurance meetings, including agenda setting, board reporting, and the subsequent follow-up of documentation and actions
  • Contribute to self-assessment, quality improvement reports and RoATP applications, in line with Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and Ofsted requirements of an apprenticeship training provider
  • Become a subject matter expert on external audits, including ESFA Funding, Ofsted and Institute visits, to ensure EY readiness ahead of an external regulatory visit
  • Play a significant role in the management and organisation of external audit visits, performing first-line reviews on evidence, managing evidence collation for students, keeping individuals aware of progress and learnings throughout

Data and Management Information:

  • Manage all student data, for both apprenticeships and professional qualifications, ensuring all team members are aware and equipped to perform their roles and responsibilities in relation to data management, delivering any training where required
  • Design and deliver a reporting package, including KPIs and key metrics, for EY student programmes to support quality assurance reviews, and to provide support and insight to the Student Experience management team, Apprenticeship Board and other key stakeholders
  • Use management information, feedback, KPI’s and other key metrics to monitor Student programme activity, measure the impact of initiatives and interventions on students, ensure any areas of risk are addressed, and that opportunities for improvement are identified
  • Work with the broader Student Experience management team to understand and interpret data and information needs. Develop and implement actionable, practical solutions based on analysis of the requirements

Stakeholder and Team Management:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with other CBS and Talent functions and key contributors to EY Student programmes, such as Recruitment, the TSS, Talent Development and other teams whose activity may impact or influence the Student programme delivery.
  • Manage a small team, act as a counsellor, coach and mentor, participate in recruitment and support wider team development and initiatives
  • Work closely with the TSS Compliance Team and GDS to ensure risk is appropriately managed, having an oversight of the service provided and act as an escalation point when required

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • An understanding of apprenticeships within the UK, the government’s apprenticeship strategy and EY’s Apprenticeship programmes
  • An awareness of the ESFA Funding Rules and the Ofsted Inspection Framework and how they apply to apprenticeship delivery in England.
  • Experience in identifying and leveraging leading practices, diverse perspectives and lessons learned in respect of the utilisation of data and management information to drive continual improvement
  • An ability to interpret and leverage data to understand challenges and guide future action and decision making.
  • Evidence of improving skills and knowledge by focusing on personal development and taking an active approach to learning, leading by example to encourage others
  • Experience in managing and coaching teams, an ability to delegate work effectively and utilise appropriate resources to meet deadlines
