FleishmanHillard is a global integrated communications agency delivering transformational outcomes for some of the world's biggest brands. FleishmanHillard New York is seeking qualified candidates for our Alfred Fleishman Diversity Fellowship. Fellows contribute to client projects while gaining practical experience in the field of integrated communications from some of the industry's best counselors. Our ideal candidates will join us full-time 40 hours per week starting this Summer (June 2024). The candidates would join us in a hybrid model of working in-person at a minimum two days per week and remote. Applicants must be in the New York area.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to agency diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Write, edit and proofread materials in AP style, including press releases, pitch letters, fact sheets, blog posts, website content, and client correspondence.
  • Pitch story ideas to relevant media and participate in brainstorm sessions.
  • Contribute to the new business process, including research and proposal preparation.
  • Monitor, research, compile and analyze client media coverage in both online and offline channels.
  • Be involved in social media projects that include research, copywriting, community management, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Cultivate diverse teams and contribute to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Recent grad (bachelor or master's degree, or are currently enrolled in a graduate program) with the ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, Eastern time hours, and for a minimum of six months starting in Summer (June) 2024. The ability to work in-person and remote.
  • A strong career interest in public relations. A background or strong interest in working with clients in the capabilities listed below is a plus.
  • A demonstrated passion for ethnic or cultural diversity, and experience advocating for DE&I in either the work, school, or volunteer setting.
  • Proven writing skills, initiative, creative problem-solving skills and proficiency in social media.
  • Two or three previous internships or equivalent experiences, at least one of which must be focused on communications, public relations, marketing, or advertising.
  • Committed to cultivating diverse teams and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Your Application Submission Must Include

  • Completed application - After filling out general information you will be prompted to answer a short essay question. Only applications with a short answer question completed will be considered. It is recommended to allot a minimum of 15-25 minutes or more to complete the short answer question.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $41,600 to $45,760.

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
