We have the following exciting opportunity in our Foster City, CA location:

Director – Health Care Provider (HCP) Promotions, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Marketing

This role will be critical in driving the development and execution of the promotional strategy to HCPs supporting the launch of FILGOTINIB in Rheumatoid Arthritis.    The person hired for this role should have a track record of consistent, high performance across previous roles and should be able to clearly demonstrate his/her ability to model the Gilead Core Values:  Integrity, Inclusion, Teamwork, Excellence, and Accountability.  This role will report directly to the Sr. Director of HCP Promotions, RA Marketing.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop HCP promotional strategic and operational plans supporting prelaunch and launch activities for RA
  • Manage all aspects and promotional/channel mix that support HCP promotion for filgotinib in RA
  • Identify knowledge gaps related to market and/or stakeholder insights to inform market research/data analysis needs
  • Effectively translate scientific, clinical data and market research into actionable commercial activities
  • Develop and manage the process and tools required for measuring promotional effectiveness across HCP promotional activities
  • Collaborate closely with counterparts on the RA and IBD marketing teams ensuring appropriate alignment and coordination on key strategic and tactical activities
  • Collaborate closely with global marketing to ensure appropriate alignment and coordination between global and regional strategic and operational plans
  • Effectively manages agency partners to produce deliverables within timelines and allocated budget, driving for continued financial and operational efficiencies
  • Manages approval of promotional materials through the internal review process to ensure medical accuracy and compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Manages assigned budget ensuring delivery of defined targets
  • Fosters strong cross-functional collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications Include:

  • Marketing Experience, Biotech/Pharma – 8-10+ years; 4-5 years of product marketing experience is preferred
  • Robust HCP promotional marketing experience, including experience managing a marketing mix across traditional and non-traditional channels
  • Experience in the RA market is beneficial, but not required
  • Launch experience preferred
  • Leadership/team management experience preferred
  • Must possess excellent strategic thinking skills with ability to formulate, align stakeholders to, and execute strategy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively tailor communication to a variety of groups and audiences
  • Experience in working with and leading cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and proven track record of managing complex and/or multiple projects/priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability effectively navigate a matrixed organization, drive decisions, and lead without direct authority when needed
  • Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
