Job Description

  • Partnering with Commercial Planning, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Managed Markets on the development of the Filgotinib narrative, positioning, disease state and pathway education, creative, launch strategy and payer value proposition; ensuring US perspective is well articulated and communicated succinctly both internally and externally.
  • Providing vision, strategy, and analytic support to allow for building out US market preparedness
  • Driving development of US Inflammation and Rheumatology Commercial Launch Plan
  • Identifying, engaging with and developing US key opinion leaders in Rheumatology
  • Effectively translating scientific, clinical and market research data into strategies, messaging and tactical planning.
  • Facilitating discussion and align cross-functional partners to contemporary thinking and US market strategy
  • Developing and delivering presentations to a range of internal (executives, US leadership team, sales) and external audiences
  • Selection of key US based agency partners and leading all aspects of agency relationships
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies
  • Closely managing and achieving budget targets
  • Leading, mentoring and enabling performance of direct reports
  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of the increasingly competitive environment, ensuring the preparedness Filgotinib brand team across all functions and coordinating with global brand team on competitive planning
  • Collaborating with sales leaders to ensure coordinated approach
  • Leading cross functionally with Legal, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory and Public Affairs leadership
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with forward-thinking industry leaders, key customers and professional organizations
  • Working in close conjunction with NA Marketing operations to establish appropriate procedures, systems, metrics and infrastructures
  • Developing, mentoring and managing key functional staff
  • Managing risk and P&L, Achieving brand/portfolio revenue targets
  • Representing Inflammation RA Marketing position on Promotional Review Committee

Required qualifications include:

  • 12+ years pharmaceutical industry experience including expertise in marketing strategy and tactics and commercial policies and practices
  • Inflammation experience required, recent rheumatology experience strongly preferred (Targeted Therapy) experience a major plus
  • Sales/market research experience is preferable, though not required
  • Consistent record of leading product launch and brand/portfolio growth
  • Experience with pharmaceutical regulatory requirements (OPDP) and impact on development of marketing materials
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in leadership, interacting with focus, resolving conflict and gain consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines
  • Strategic capability to conceive, develop and implement multidimensional marketing and business plans
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively leading multiple projects/priorities
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting before executive staff
  • Track record of successful budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting and expense budget planning and tracking
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports
