Santa Monica Studio is seeking a Gameplay Tools Programmer for the development of a new unannounced title!

You’re into making everyone else’s life better. You’re into tools. You spend your time thinking about workflow improvements and slick user interfaces and optimizations that will decrease iteration times.

Responsibilities 
  • Design, implement, and maintain systems and tools to support narrative and gameplay
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, and other programmers as needed
  • Write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code
  • Profile and optimize to remove bottlenecks
  • Test and document code produced
  • Support tools and technology as needed for specific project requirements
Requirements 
  • B.Sc. degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of professional programming experience
  • Expertise in C and C++
  • Proficient in linear algebra, matrix and vector math used in games
  • Professional experience demonstrating proficiency in algorithm design, understanding of complexity, and software architecture and design
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable and extensible code with attention to reusability
  • Enthusiasm and initiative
  • Excellent spoken and written communication
  • Good collaborator within a large, diverse team
Preferred Experience
  • Experience building narrative tools

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.$51.30—$76.97 USD
